Made in Chinatown

Sergio Basso

Genre: Documentary

Synopsis

A ballad about the Chinese community in Milan. Milan’s Chinatown is problematic: it has recorded several murders that happened in broad daylight, with machetes. One fine day an Italian asks a Chinese woman for her hand in marriage, and this generates a chain of reactions in the community.
From the particular focus on one of the oldest and largest Chinatowns in Europe, the film takes the viewer into a universal metaphor, about hatred and dreams between the West and China.
A film with direct access to the Chinese community, with an Italian director … who speaks Chinese.
